Canberra Sub 60 City2Surf Challenge
Ever been to Canberra on a cold winter’s day? Layers upon layers still don’t seem to beat the chill. Imagine running barefoot on a frozen road at 6:00am on a lovely -5 degree morning. That’s what Nick has been doing to train for this year’s City2Surf, which he also completed barefoot, running 14km to raise important funds and awareness for Kiss Goodbye to MS.
Nick is part of the Canberra Sub 60 Team, a team of seven runners organised by Nick’s friend Andy. The team aimed to complete the City2Surf in under 60 minutes, and committed to make a personal donation of 5% prior to the run of the funds they have raised, if any team member should not complete the run in under 60 minutes.
The Sub 60 team was the first to arrive at our City2Surf marquee, and the entire team crossed the finish line in under 60 minutes, many of them with a new personal best! And the best part is still to come – the Canberra Sub 60 team has raised an incredible $2737 for MS research and Kiss Goodbye to MS along the way!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Andy, Nick, Darren, William, Daniel, Michael and David for their support and incredible efforts in running the City2Surf and raising vital funds for ongoing research into MS. You guys are amazing and have brought us closer to our goal to one day be able to Kiss Goodbye to MS once and for all!
We couldn’t do the work we do without our wonderful Kiss Goodbye to MS supporters, so thank you.
