Running for a cure

Combine Sydney’s most iconic race, perfect weather and 200 Kiss Goodbye to MS runners and you have one pretty incredible City2Surf event! On Sunday the 13th August our Kiss Goodbye to MS City2Surf team raised more than $24,000, with our 200 runners flying the flag for MS Research Australia.

We had runners of all abilities pounding the pavement. Kiss Goodbye to MS was represented by some very quick 12 year old girls who completed the course in under 90 minutes, a running team from Canberra who travelled all the way to Sydney, groups of friends who walked the course together, and of course people like Grazia Bunter who completed the City2Surf to support her daughter who has MS.

The feeling at the City2Surf was one of gratitude, pride and the kind of exhaustion that makes you happy. And it is not too late to get involved in a fun run in your community.

Each year in August and September community fun runs happen all around Australia. Known in our office as ‘running season’ these events give people a chance to get out in the winter sunshine and support a cause close to their hearts. Whether you are a serious athlete or more of a recreational participant, community fun runs are an excellent opportunity to support Kiss Goodbye to MS.

Whether you run, jog or walk, ‘running season’ is a great excuse to tell the world about the importance of research into MS! Find out about running events near you here.
