Let's kiss goodbye to MS
As many of you know I am acutely aware of the suffering and pain caused by MS as it affected, and ultimately killed, my wife Sheryn after a 16 year battle. The suffering was immense for her, but it also spread to mark all those that cared for her: her family and friends.
It’s a horrible disease that we must find a cure for.
Some other local families are going through their own battles with MS, and this has caused their mates to organise this one-off campaign to raise funds towards finding a cure.
Their main fundraising focus is through sponsorship of a bike ride from the North Nowra Tavern to the top of Mount Kosciusko – the “Tav to the Top”
I was asked to join them, and after my wife’s death a few months ago I have agreed, and am committed to raising $5000 towards their end goal of $100,000.
I anticipate the 400km cycling journey (mostly uphill) will be a serious challenge to my fat and aging body, but one I approach with some excitement. Mostly though, I am truly encouraged by the care, dedication and vigour of people willing to help each other out; and the fundraising already accomplished, and to be accomplished.
