Let's kiss goodbye to MS
On the 19th October 2019 I will be embarking on an 8-day adventure with a team of inspiring individuals dedicated to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. Every kilometre we cover helps Kiss Goodbye to MS to not only raise awareness of this condition but also raise money for future research.
This is a cause very close to my heart as my mother, Gayle, was diagnosed with MS in July 2010, after completely losing sight in her right eye in February of 2010. Post-diagnosis, Mum was prescribed diseass-modifying drugs which involved injections every second day, leaving her with severe headaches and bruises all over her body. She is now on oral medication and has only 6% vision with no return of colour in her right eye. She experiences debilitating low back pain accompanied by pain and the loss of sensation in her right leg. She has pain, numbness and almost constant tingling in her left arm as well as unstable balance and fatigue. She is an inspiration, continuing to fight in spite of this disease – A trait she obviously inherited from her father, George, who battled Motor Neurone Disease, another unforgiving auto-immune disorder, for 31 years.
Please dig deep and help support people like my mother living with this silent disease. With your help there might be a light at the end of the dark tunnel to accelerate research and finally find a cure.
