We are the Reeves girls and this October we are attempting the unthinkable task of competing in the Noosa Triathlon with the absolute bare minimum of training! Well, two of us are. Jo is the runner of our team and smashing out 10km will be a literal walk in the park for her. Kate is our swimmer! She completed a couple of laps of the Manly to Shelly swim last Summer but a fear of sharks has set her way back in the training stakes. Lu is on the 40km bike. Is Lu a cyclist? No. Has she got all the gear and no idea? Also no – she barely has a bike. Will she scramble together in these last four weeks to garner the knowledge and skill that it takes to complete a gruelling 40km cycle through the Noosa Hinterland? Let’s bloody well hope so. Why are we embarking on this truly insane endeavour?? To raise as much money as we can for research into Multiple Sclerosis which our Lu was diagnosed with almost two years ago. MS has affected Lu’s life in so many ways. There have been dark times and hospital stays, time away from her little boys and the niggling thoughts that always loom about what the future could look like. But Lu remains positive and whole heartedly believes that a cure for MS is just around the corner. We are so close!
