The final Stretch of The May 50K!

We are now in the last week of The May 50K, our virtual fitness challenge encouraging Australians to run or walk 50 kilometres or more, throughout the month of May to raise funds for life-changing MS research.

With over 19,000 people participating in The May 50K across all the states of Australia and over $2.8 million  raised so far; we are excited to see how the last week of May unfolds!

There are some passionate teams on board who are making their presence known and the momentum is in full swing, with individuals, social teams as well as workplace teams all striving for a top position on this year’s fundraising leader board!

The ORS workplace team has participated in The May 50K for the past three years and this year, they are determined to smash their fundraising target of $15,000!

Working in the Allied Health space, team ORS believes MS research to be an incredibly important cause. The team is all too happy to get involved for their third year running and find that participating in The May 50K helps to boost their company culture and lift workplace morale throughout the month.

Team captain, Travis Williamson says ‘here at ORS, we are a competitive bunch, and we enjoy some friendly inter-office competition. We have 12 sub-teams and over 100 team members this year and we love hearing colleagues challenge each other with their kilometre tally across the month of May as well as seeing who can raise the most funds. Some staff members even go as far as taking requests to do fun and silly things while participating in The May 50K to get those extra donations’.

The May 50K makes a significant impact in raising awareness and funds for MS research so let’s cheer on these champions in the last week of this challenge, in their run to the virtual finish line and help leave MS where it belongs, behind us!
