The Red Affair 2017
The Red Affair, one of our most iconic Kiss Goodbye to MS fundraising events, was back this July and it was our biggest and most successful to date! The stylish dinner, MC’d by the wonderful Sandra Sully, was hosted at the stunning China Doll restaurant in Woolloomooloo, and saw over 150 guests from the corporate world in attendance.
Guests saw a display of glittering performances as they enjoyed an array of delicious dishes prepared by the talented China Doll kitchen. Coco Jumbo and Sheileta Buffét, two of Sydney’s most glamorous drag queens entertained guests throughout the night! The queens posed for photos, each performed solo performances and topped the night off with a fabulous duet.
With a raffle, live and silent auction occurring throughout the evening, our guests had the opportunity to snap up some seriously impressive prizes. With a trip to Bali, a helicopter flight mission and a Hunter Valley getaway on offer, the bidding wars were officially on!
The Kiss Goodbye to MS team organised the event in collaboration with long term supporter, Jacqui Tracey. During the evening, Jacqui shared her personal journey with MS. She has chosen to call her MS “Clive” and talks about how Clive misbehaves sometimes. Jacqui emphasised the importance of MS research and how developments into treatments and cures could one day lead to Clive being more of a backseat character in her life.
Through ticket sales, auction prizes and donations – including an incredibly generous donation of $10,000 from one selfless supporter – The Red Affair raised over $68,500 for vital research into MS. This is a new record for this event and we are so overwhelmed with our guests’ generosity. We had such a memorable evening and would like to thank all of our sponsors, partners, volunteers and guests, who helped make the night such an enjoyable success.
